Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 10, 2025

Our commitment

Data Sistah is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually work to improve the experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards across this site.

Standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and improve usability for everyone.

Accessibility features

Navigation and structure

  • Clear and consistent navigation
  • Proper heading hierarchy
  • A skip to content link for screen reader and keyboard users
  • Logical tab order throughout

Visual design

  • Text and background pairs that meet WCAG AA contrast
  • Readable, scalable type that responds to browser text settings
  • Visible focus indicators on every interactive element
  • Support for browser zoom up to 200% without horizontal scrolling

Content and media

  • Alternative text for meaningful images
  • Descriptive link text that makes sense out of context
  • Form labels clearly associated with their controls
  • Error messages that are clear and actionable

Motion

  • Animation is limited to one entrance sequence and one scroll effect
  • All motion is disabled when your system requests reduced motion
  • No content flashes more than three times per second
  • Nothing you need to click is delayed by an animation

Assistive technology

This site is built to work with assistive technology, including:

  • Screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver
  • Voice recognition software
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Switch navigation devices
  • Built-in browser accessibility features

Browser and device support

  • Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, latest two versions
  • Responsive layouts tested from 375 pixels wide upward
  • Touch targets that meet minimum size requirements
  • Compatible with mobile screen readers

Third-party content

The booking section embeds Calendly's scheduling widget. We do not control its accessibility. If the embedded scheduler causes you trouble, the same booking page opens in its own tab from the link directly beneath it, or you can email us and we will schedule the call for you.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts of this site may not yet be fully accessible. We are actively working on:

  • The accessibility of the embedded Calendly scheduler, which is outside our control
  • Alternative descriptions for complex graphics as we add them

Testing

We regularly test using:

  • Automated accessibility testing tools
  • Manual testing with screen readers
  • Keyboard-only navigation testing
  • Colour contrast verification
  • Mobile accessibility testing
